Nugget

The Nugget hop is sometimes referred to as a "government hop' released in 1982 by the US Department of Agriculture. Yup, the government is in the hop business too! It is primarly grown in various regions of Oregon and is known for it's herbal type characteristics including woodsy and earthy tones. Think the "forest" on a rainy day in Portland and you'll think Nugget hops. The Nugget hop is a high alpha acid hop and often provides the jolt of hops in beer. Nugget hops are used in a wide variety of beers such as Imperials, IPA's and even a few hoppy pale ales.
